Spam Filters
Get familiar with e-mail spam filters, how they work and how you can activate them.
A spam filter is a software application that is installed on an email server and monitors all inbound messages in order to hinder any unrequested ones from reaching a certain inbox. Several examples of such emails would be: offers for pills or money, false banking notices or attachments that contain malicious code sent with the intention to infect your PC. Email filters typically examine the content of an email message and if they detect specific keywords or other suspicious content, they either erase the message or redirect it to the Junk/Spam folder instead of the Inbox folder. Certain providers combine their own spam filters with up-to-date databases from spam-detecting organizations, so as to ensure higher levels of security for their customers. Such databases include patterns, email server IPs and other information about spam messages recently uncovered by these organizations.

Spam Filters in Cloud Hosting
The safety of any mailbox that you set up under a
cloud hosting account with our company is ensured by the advanced SpamAssassin filter that we employ. You can enable it through the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and it comes with five levels of protection based on the spam score it gives to each and every email message depending on different parameters, such as the frequency of certain words, the sender, etc. If you keep receiving spam messages, you can always raise the level or if you’re scared that you may skip an authentic message, you can mix the automatic spam filter with a custom one and redirect all messages from a particular sender to a different mailbox. If you reach the decision that you no longer want anti-spam protection for a certain email account, you can disable it with only a couple of clicks of the mouse.

Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you use a
semi-dedicated server plan from our company and if you set up one or more email accounts with any of the domains hosted in the account, you will be able to enable the powerful, 5-level SpamAssassin email filter that we offer and keep all undesired emails away from your inbox. This option is accessible through the Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel and it can be activated or deactivated for any email account whenever you wish. You can also change the protection level with a couple of clicks of the mouse if unsolicited bulk emails still enter your inbox or the anti-spam filter starts removing authentic email messages. Since you can select whether the spam should be erased instantaneously or forwarded to another email address, you can create
[email protected], for example, and view all filtered email messages there, so as to make sure that you won’t miss a message that you need. The email messages that the anti-spam filter permits to proceed will still be received in your mailbox.
