A Control Panel is a web-based interface via which you can control different aspects of your online presence. As an example, you can easily create or change site files, set up and check e-mails, handle databases, check visitor statistics etc. Those things are executed via buttons and menus inside an internet browser and the Control Panel may also be called ‘back office’, i.e. the administration area associated with your hosting account. Most of the Control Panels available will allow you to control all hosting-related matters, but you shall often require a different system to control payments or to get a new domain name when the company offers domain registrations. Depending on the platform they utilize, you may be able to use the billing account to open a support ticket to ask a question or to resolve a problem as well, or you might have to use a 3rd system.
